- La mia biblioteca
- From the time I first stepped into a library, I decided that I would collect enough books to have my own. It was, and continues to be, my favorite place to spend time reading, browsing, writing, thinking, and just experiencing good quality private think time. When I moved back to Pittsburgh, Pa from Tuscaloosa, Alabama after finishing graduate school, I had more boxes of books than anything else--including clothes or furniture! I even had to sell some books because I had no way of safely transporting them (plus, ~MY~ library just wasn't going to include ~those~ books! *chuckles*).
I had considered just using LT for my academic section of my library, but realized that I had difficulty dividing the books that way. I think you'll find my collection ecclectic, and if you don't then I've come to the right place! Since I've researched and taught everything from Pop Culture and Lit, Comic books, Shakespeare, Medieval Lit, Poetry, Horror, Film, etc., I truely believe that everything can be considered academic, or approached academically; therefore, everything in my library has some critical approach--scholarly or not--attached. Once I finish adding all of the books and digging through old boxes, I'll start with the reviews. Most likely, I'll get to the reviews before digging through storage.
Enjoy! - Informazione su di me
- I'm a a self proclaimed "firebrand" academic who is more of a scullery maid in the Ivory Tower than the Queen of the castle at the moment (hey, we all have to start somewhere!). In the effort to make myself "marketable," I have found myself engrossed in multiple fields of Literature and theory, and enjoy teaching and talking about every letter! My primary scholarship is in Early Modern English Drama (primarily Shakespeare and Middleton), history of the same period, adaptations, film, new historicism, race, and feminist theories. Sub focii include horror, gothic, comics, media as text, and the use of source material for the Early modern stage.
I've started my own review site entitled Lyrique Tragedy Reviews. There is a mirror site on MySpace. I am also a Reviewer for BookPleasures.com, and have a blog, Lyrique Tragedy Reviews (LTR) on Publishers Marketplace.
