Many of the fiction books I enjoy tend to poke fun at technology in some way. Favorite authors include Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Bill Bryson. Sometimes I will get hooked on what my daughter reads, such as the Erin Hunter "Warriors" series. And before that it was Rodda's Fairy Realms series.

My non fiction choices include computer books (learn HTML/CSS, Lisp, Visual Basic, AutoCAD, Emacs) or commentary on how technology alter our social landscape. My wife is an avid reader of biography, and I read the more amazing ones, such as Walls' "The Glass Castle."
