I am also a member of bookcrossing.com so I will be taking books from that list as well as adding more to this one. I prefer reading novels about relationships between people as well as biographies. I have a special interest in the Elizabethan Period and I am fascinated with British History from any period. It goes w/o saying that I love Shakespeare and believe he was the only one who wrote the complete works. I don't ascribe to any of the theories that try to prove otherwise. I chose Jane Austen as my picture,although I would have prefered Virginia Woolf,because she understood the "mysterious distance between a man and a woman" (Bono, U2). She never married because she wanted to marry for love not money and her love had no money. I am a romanitc at heart and as a result I can come across as very cynical and jaded where "love" is concerned. It has disappointed me and eluded me my entire life.

I have been a high school English teacher for six years. I did a career change from sales because I needed to be doing something that will make a difference. I have never married and have no children just two cats, but I am far from being an old maid school teacher. I work with "at-risk" students where school is more of a safe haven than the homes they come from. It is a constant challenge but I have had more than a hand in many success stories. It is why I do it.
