Reading came upon me with new purpose after viewing the HBO show True Blood which is based upon the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. My sister gave me the set of Sookie books for my birthday. Once I started reading I could not stop. I went on to read all the works of Charlaine Harris and have tapped into the other supernatural worlds of Patricia Briggs, Kelley Armstrong, Stephanie Meyer, Jeannine Frost, J. R. Ward, and others.

I enjoyed Harris’ Aurora Teagarden series just as much as I did the Sookie novels, along with her Lily Bard, and Harper Connelly books, but I cannot seem to find anyone other favorite author comparable to Ms. Harris.

I look forward to reading recommendations from this community as I continue enjoying reading with a more luxurious purpose.

I have always enjoyed reading as a student. As my schooling years progressed many times reading became known to me as an obligation. Reading novels as an undergrad for English or reading articles during my masters became the sum of my reading purposes.
