A note on how I rate books:

1- absolutely terrible, don't waste your time
2- didn't like, wouldn't recommend
3- a good read, worth a try if it's your thing
4- throughly enjoyed, recommend
5- all-time favourite, OMG you should read this

So most books rate between 2-4; a book has to be really outstanding to get 1 or 5.
