La mia biblioteca
My taste in books, just like my taste in music, is eclectic. Reading from an early age I went from Little Golden books, to Bobbsey Twins, Old Mother West Wind, then on to Black Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood, and Big Red, got introduced to Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. A friend, who I thank immensely and don't even remember their name now, gave me my first ever Science Fiction book, Robert A. Heinlein's, Stranger in a Strange Land and I was hooked. Sci-Fi extended into Fantasy and I was further addicted.

College brought new genre's and I fell deeply, tantalized by Beowulf, Capote, Tolkien, Harper Lee, etc.
I have some favorite books from when I was a kid. I trade books a little. I have a hard time giving or tossing books away and woe to the person who borrows and does not return. Blasphemy!

They are the best gifts to give and the best to receive. Especially when it is an introduction to a new journey.
Informazione su di me
I'm a bookaholic. My mother pushed me to start reading at an early age. We were allowed to read anything we wanted. From comics to the encyclopedias, classics to rag magazines, religious tomes to Golden Books, if it was readable it was read. Every genre that existed hit our bookshelves at one time. The only books she tried to keep from us were Dr. Seuss books, and even some of them snuck into the premises as gifts or found items.

One of our favorite pastimes was hitting the secondhand and thrift stores to scrounge for reading material. The secondhand stores were a gift to kids who had little money and a lot of need to read.

My books spread from shelf to floor, to table, to any available space. Just ask my friends. Many have sat on a book, they compete with the cat hairs. :-)

I Love books, everything about books. Reading is like being given permission to be a voyeur. So many places to see, people to meet, lives to live. How good is that?

As my friend Lee says, "There is nothing like the smell of a new book."
Each book, new or used smells different, just like each story inside is different.
