I actually collect crochet and quilt pattern books. So did my grandmother and my great grandmother, so I had their collections as well after they passed. Unfortunately, We had a small leak in our basement over the period of a couple of years and until the black mold and "mushrooms" started growing, we had no idea! The flooding took most of the older books my grandparents passed on to me and I was completely devastated, so I decided to take all the books I have left and scan them into the computer. I have succeeded in scanning almost 1000 books, leaflets, magazines, and individual patterns into the computer so far, but I still have a LONG way to go. I will eventually sell off all the hard copies. I also have an auto-immune disorder called systemic lupus which tries to keep me down quite often over the last few years, but until they are all scanned and edited for quality I can't or won't give up. I also have several favorite fiction authors too, but Im doing my best to keep these books all digital from the beginning,(rev. 2013-06-12) especially now that I am the proud owner of a Kindle Fire HD 7"!! OMG, what a wonderful invention. When they first came out they were so expensive and could only "read" black and white. Not the beautiful COLOR you see in my favorite books!

Needless to say, I'm in emotional heaven and just pray I get there physically until I get ALL this new reading done and the rest of my books scanned in and edited!!
Informazione su di me
As I get older I realize that there are so many things to love in my life, things I took for granted when I was younger, or was just too pre-occupied on trying to make a perfect marriage, children, etc., that I didn't realize that perfection is not the answer. What you do with what you have is what counts. What I have is a Super and fantastic best friend: my husband. Two beautiful sons and four of the most precious Akita children anyone could ask for. Everything else in my life runs a far second. Financial, health and other problems will always be there; but, to coin a phrase, "Life is too short," to not enjoy every minute you can on those living things that you love.
By trade I'm a computer tech: sales & service for Office Depot. I try not to subscribe to the negative connotations of being a sales person. It is my quest, eight hours a day, fourty hours a week to help others make informed decisions concerning their purchases. What's important is how my customers feel when leaving my section of the store and one thing I think is certain, the majority of my customers don't feel taken advantage of.
What I aspire to be, even at this mid-life age, is a Quilt designer/teacher/mentor. I want to help people create something, with their own hands, that they will be remembered for, so I hope to one day be able to afford to quit my job and concentrate on designing custom quilts for other people.
Currently I am trying to design a database for all those quilters and other crafters out there to help organize all of the quilting supplies, equipment and most of all literature so they can have more time expressing their creative side rather than constantly looking through what they have to see if it is what's needed or worse yet, just purchasing something, only to find they already had it in thier craft stash.
