The C.S. Lewis Study Center houses a REFERENCE LIBRARY focusing on the writings BY C.S. Lewis, and ABOUT him. Also included are works by those who influenced him, such as J.R.R. Tolkien, Dorothy L. Sayers, George MacDonald, G.K. Chesterton, Owen Barfield, and Charles Williams. The Study Center is housed in the historic “Green Pastures” home built in 1887 in Northfield, Massachusetts.
As a REFERENCE LIBRARY, the books and periodicals in the collection are only available for use on site, and not available for borrowing. Exceptions for specific items must be authorized by the President of the C. S. Lewis Study Center.
As of April, 2024 the collection includes over 4900 resources--over 4121 books (about 20 CDs/DVDs) and over 940 Journal issues/volumes (from 23 journals/periodicals).Books,CDs and DVDs are cataloged here online in Library Thing. A 3-ring notebook at the Study Center contains copies of the Table of Contents (or other listings) of the Journal issues/volumes in the collection. The catalog and notebook will be updated periodically as new donations are made to the Study Center.
