- I have a Master's in English; I pursued a PhD in the same field and then stopped/quit/ditched out while a.b.d. I teach in the first-year writing programs at DePaul (full-time) and the University of Illinois at Chicago (part-time), while writing (speculative fiction) and taking more grad courses (linguistics/TESOL, information tech, psychology, and public service) in what I laughably call my spare time. I live the suburbs with My Three Sons, all of whom invest my life with meaning.
