In this fast-paced third volume of the Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, Linden and Covenant make significant progress in fighting back the baleful influence of Lord Foul. Jeremiah, whose mind has been controlled by the Dark Lord since he was stolen away from his mother’s house and taken to The Land, will be freed, and his importance revealed. Covenant will rouse himself to take action against one of the prime manipulators of all the evil brought against him. And Linden, whose determination got them this far, will finally begin to see some results, and a glimmer of hope, after the epic struggle she has been through. All of these things are a great satisfaction to readers who have followed these characters and feared for them more than once.
