Best Graphic Novel Nonfiction

paradoxosalpha : An excellent book that drew on family history with a real-world message, but still clearly fiction. Anthropomorphic mice, man.

Michael.Rimmer: Using mice, cats and other animals as metaphors does not make this book a work of fiction. As a family history, it gives a personal perspective on a global event, the metaphorical elements enriching, rather than detracting from, historical accuracy.

Tea58: I wanted to read this Graphic book when it first came out. Then, time passed and the title became forgotten. I like multicultural reading. Reading about other countries, whether struggling or not, gives me a chance to learn about how other people live.

souci: For me it is one of the few graphic works where the illustrations do illustrate the narrative, but rather ARE the narrative.

Carojo95: Caroline Jones was stunned at what she *didn't* know about breast cancer and cancer treatment so she wrote and illustrated this guide/memoir. The words "You have breast cancer" are some of the hardest you'll ever hear about your health. This heavily illustrated memoir has anecdotal and evidence-based tips about getting through treatment and maintaining your health after treatment has concluded.
