Renaissance Geeks

We, though being computer geeks, recognize the need for cross-discipline knowledge, experience, and interests. We have our Code Fu. And our System Hacks. However, we also see the need to be well-read, politically aware, ethically responsible, and in-touch with the world around us. This sort of integration and diversity is condusive to being a more interesting person and even having a more successful career.

We feel that being well and widely read is a key part to this. We see many good examples of individuals who, though computer geeks are far from being one-dimensional people. LibraryThing provides a wonderful avenue for combining our geeky side with our other interests.

As geeks we will always be eccentric, but at least we can live life to the fullest! Come and hangout and advocate this "Renaissance Geeks" movement.
