The Glasses {short story} di Hermynia Zur Muhlen
I found this one about people being forces the wear distorting glasses a little tiresome.
A magician gives a village a mechanical servant and tells them they must own it collectively. They're very happy until someone makes them an offer they don't refuse.
More an allegory of anarchist utopia than a fairy tale. Interesting comparing it with Ursula Le Guin's work.
