It seems like a big technical book on the Bible but instead it’s a heartwarming narrative friend coming alongside of you and pointing out how, why, and what the Bible does. It’s a great way to learn more about the Bible in a single read then most likely people learn in years.

A must read for those wanting a great overview of Bible study methods and how to avoid pitfalls. The writer is engaging, funny and down to earth. His love of the Word is evident and he makes me wish I were his student in full seminary class.

Of the 346 pages of this book I only objected to two words. In fact it's not the words I object to, it's how they were used in the sentence. He could have left them off and the paragraph would have been just as effective..... even more so in my opinion. My objection obviously did not adversely effect my heartfelt enjoyment of this book or my opinion of the author. It's just a matter of doctrinal differences.

He summarizes methods I have learned from Howard Hendricks, Kay Arthur and Rick Warren. I will use his methods this summer in my "book study" from the Old Testament .
