Beth Yahp

I had a lot of frustrations when reading this book. Despite being beautifully written (and therefore I don't doubt that Yahp is a very capable author) the story just seemed to go nowhere for a long time and then wind up incomplete.

I love Beth Yahp's "The Crocodile Fury" - a novel blending mythology and history through the stories of three generations of women in Malaysia. It's not at all sweet or sentimental; it's very rich and stylised, at times almost surreal.
