Full disclosure: I bought this for the Stephen King interview. At the time, however, I was a little dismayed at this quarterly so-called periodical was hardcover and $35. Regardless, I figured I'd like some of the other stuff in it.

Of the actual comics, I read only one, about a trip to the San Diego Con. It was okay. Not great, but okay.

I tried to read a couple of the articles, and just gave up on them.

I read the Alan Moore interview from 2006, and became convinced that Moore is purposefully fucking with the interviewer, or he's pretty much lost his marbles. Or both. For all of that, it was very mildly entertaining.

I read the King interview and it was mostly underwhelming in that King really didn't have a hell of a lot to do with any of the comics stuff that came out with his name on it, aside from assigning the rights and collecting a cheque. Wasn't worth the money.

The Douglas Adams and Berni Wrightson remembrances were okay. But again, only okay.

Finally there were two fiction pieces, one from Joe R. Lansdale and one from Paul Tremblay. Both were well-written, but ultimately nowhere near their best work, so again, I walked away feeling let down.

Bottom line, I didn't read about a third of it, and the rest was only passable. Not enough for me to cough up that kind of money for the next volume.… (altro)
