The Diary of a Cotswold Parson di F.E. Witts
The Reverend Witts lived in the village of Upper Slaughter in the Cotswolds. These extracts from his diary cover the years 1820 to 1853 and although he was no Kilvert or Woodforde,his life as described here is not uninteresting. He was a Magistrate and sat on many committees. He records his travels by coach and by early railway. He was also a great studier of antiquities and architecture. Several famous names crop up within these pages including Warren Hastings and Dr.Jenner.
A worthy addition to any collection of diarists of the period.… (altro)
