Biography of John Eliot 1604-1690 , who, at the age of forty-five created a grammar and dictionary of the Algonquian Indians and then translated the entire Bible 1663 so he could preach to the Indians in their own tongue. He went to the Indians in friendship, and created fourteen "Praying Indian" towns, where they settled down to farm and trade and keep the Sabbath.
