This was a powerful, but short, book of poetry. I can't begin to tell you what it means to someone like me who hit the teen years at the same time as most of the Vietnam War. When were we such a stupid group of Americans? I'd say no more so than this particular time. Veterans were shamed. Veterans were accused of all sorts of things, and yet they were the ones who were sure they were fighting for US, the people of the United States of America. We turned our backs on them. This is their story in a group of poems that deal, not with the facts, but with amazing emotions and feelings. This is our Vietnam Veterans, their families and the families of those who didn't make it. It doesn't take much time. Honestly.
