The death of the husband and father brought many changes into the lives of the green family. First, there was the Big Move from the comfortable city home to a large ranch in Northern California. For 12-year-old Allison there were adjustments aplenty, such as the small church school where she was the new girl and not much like by a few of the "old" students.
