William of Tyre

This translation was made in 1943 of a book that ends in 1184, and was written by a cleric with access to all the records in the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Not without bias (He was fond of his pupil, Baldwin the Leper King), but still coherent, and relatively straight as regards information. William was Archbishop of Tyre, and was often an ambassador to foreign powers for the principal Crusader State. The coverage begins with the first Crusade, and continues to 1184.
