Jane Goodall is a truly inspiring female scientist and conservationist who has dedicated herself to studying chimpanzees and working to protect them. This biography explores Goodall from her early interest in animals to her first trip to Africa to her first time studying chimpanzees in Gombe to her transition from a researcher to an activist for conservation. Vivid color photographs and maps as well as historical notes enhance the text of the biography. The book also includes information on how to get involved, a chronology, a glossary, a bibliography and list of further resources, and an index. This is an excellent biography for children in grades 4-8 to read for fun or for school.
