Imperial Mughal Painting di Stuart Cary Welch
Mentioned in Annemarie Schimmel's book (Empire of the Great Mughals) several times. Must have, at least, beautiful illustrations. Just ordered it through Abebooks since it is out of print.
Persian Painting introduces the art of the Safavid history (16th century). The reproductions are beautiful and each is accompanied by information on the probable artist as well as a careful description of what is portrayed in the printing. The depictions are taken from the rich collection of Persian poetry and epic.
A classical exhibition of indian miniatures, but unfortunately mostly without colour fotos.
