This is such a smart concept. This book includes forms to be used either by instructors, peers, or students to determine different aspects of teaching. Most of us have thought of doing something like that (outside of the evaluation context, which is not useful), and it is really nice not to have to re-invent the wheel, even though some of the forms need updating and I wish the prolific Maryellen Weimer worked on a new edition. So, this is not a "one and done", cover to cover book but a book of references and forms to be used continuously. Which means, it would be great to have the forms in digital format, or available for download. As it is, it's either get bad copies or re-type the whole dang things.
Nevertheless, a very useful tool.

Weimer’s style is friendly and engaging, making this an ideal summer read.… (altro)

Learner-cenetered Teaching - 2nd edition - has many new features including research that supports a move to this style of teaching. Many of the examples have been updated to represent the type of activities we now see in the classroom. As the title implies, this book helps faculty think about how their classroom practices focus on student learning rather than teacher output. While a move to this type of teaching can be scary, Weimer's book helps us think about the move in a systematic way, reducing some of the barriers many of us face.… (altro)
