OH MY, WHAT A STICKY WICKED!! I liked that Robin had made detective very quickly, but I disliked her partner as Kyle, I THINK WAS ENVIOUS kept calling her ROOKIE. On the way to the police department, a man stumbled in requesting help, everyone except her though the man was drunk, but he fell to the floor and died. Once the autopsy was finished, they had an idea where to start looking for answers. I AM HOOKED ON ROBIN NOW!!
I loved this book and I felt sorry for Sarah being accused of murdering her partner. It was bad enough that she didn't know William as well as she thought and now, she had evidence of her family's dark secret that she dare not her her temporary boss know as the captain, the medical examiner, and her now dead ex-partner were part of some secret organization.

A prequel, or short story that can be devoured (as I did) in a half hour or so, has to be pretty darn good and fast paced for me to give it a high rating. Audrey Walker also added an intriguing and unusual cause of death, which I found fascinating. I am eager to read more about Giselle Norwood and to dive into her future cases.
