- Frances Fuller Victor was born in Rome, New York. In 1862, Frances married as her second husband Henry Victor, a naval engineer and the brother of her sister's husband. Frances Victor went on to become a popular history writer who produced many works focused on the personalities, westward expansion, and frontier of the USA,. She also wrote historical novels and was a columnist for the San Francisco Daily Morning Call.
