I like the idea of this book, and totally agree with it. But I think it lacks concrete ideas that are practical in STEM courses. I'm already pressed to teach the course objectives in the time allotted to me, how can I take the time to include the types of activities that are in this book, that are not remotely related to STEM? I can't take time out of my lectures to have students fill out a worksheet about values, or to take a "step forward" or a "step back" if they have certain privileges or disadvantages in their lives.

Now that I'm stuck teaching hybrid or totally remote classes, many of these activities completely don't apply any more. I think now more than ever students need to foster a sense of connectedness with others, and I struggle to find ways to encourage and enable that. This book just makes me feel like a bad professor for not being able to give my students what they need (other than the subject content, that is).
