I enjoyed the book and the many photos, the timetables included in the scorecards and much else, but was rather put off by the use of Mr. for the amateurs ["to follow the convention of the time"] - OK for scorecards, but not surely in the text. It's quite irritating. And no "pompous 'message', judgements in hindsight, no phoney nostalgia". That cuts out a lot of the interest in a book of this nature doesn't it?
