A sexy space agent searches for a dangerous man on an alien planet.

The sole point of this movie is Jane Fonda in (and out of) a series of skimpy costumes. And in that they have succeeded. Otherwise, though, there's not much. There's some humor, but not enough. There's an attempt at campy space adventure, but it's not any fun. And there's even some action - some of the worst action scenes this side of Michael Bay.

When I first read this book (twenty odd-years ago now), I had little idea who Roger Vadim was, or his films. I did know, however of Bridget Bardot, widely acclaimed as one of the most beautiful women in the world, which was a big reason why I bought this book in the first place. As an added bonus, a nude photo of Ms Bardot was included (at least in the version I bought).

Teen hormones aside, the book never quite explains my biggest question about Vadim; why someone like Vadim was able to attract some of the most beautiful women in the world. Even now, when I know far more about the world than I did then, I'm still mystified by it.

Anyway, Vadim happily discusses his conquests and also drops some trivia (he claims it was he who coined the word "discotheque") and some on set anecdotes, such as the time he accidentally left his mother adrift in an old boat for several hours. His mother seemed to be far less annoyed about this than my mother would have been but I guess he's a famous director who went out with many famous women, so maybe Vadim can get away with such things.
