- Anne Charlotte Fayermann was born in Norfolk, England. Her uncle was John Thomas, Bishop of Rochester. In 1827, she married Walter Turnbull, the composer, and after his death in 1838, she married Valentine Bartholomew, an artist. She is usually known as Mrs. Anne Charlotte Bartholomew. Her comic farce, It’s Only My Aunt, was published in 1825 and her collection of poetry, Songs of Azreal, was published in 1840. Mrs Bartholomew also wrote the drama The Ring, or the Farmer's Daughter (1845). She also painted miniatures to adorn jewellery, figures, and flowers, and her works were exhibited at The Royal Academy in 1856 and 1857. The painter Anna Maria Charretie was her student.
