This book totally exceeded my expectations - its has a plot that hasn't been explored, wonderful characters that defied a stereotype, and a great story. I especially liked how the author explored digital literature and its progression throughout time. Very interesting.

Hieronymus is a 100% Lunar Boy - that is a person with the eyes a the 4th primary color. He lives in a future moon, one that has been terraformed, where people live freely without without worrying about things like domes, lack of water, and oxygen. Its a gritty sort of place, only visited as a jumping off point to places more exotic. The 100% Lunar Citizens are an odd side effect of living on the moon. Nobody is quite sure why it happens, but all that is known is that if a normal human looks into the eyes of a 100%, the normal human goes crazy/blanks out. As a result, the 100% percents have to wear a goggles that hide the 4th primary colored eyes.

Now, given that scenario, you would think Heiro would be a sad kid, friendless, and lonely. But the author takes a different turn - instead of an being an outcast due to his eyes, Heiro is an outcast do to his learning abilities - very excellent in classes like language and literature, but absolutely poor in classes like math. So, he ends up taking classes in both the top and remedial schoolrooms, but managing to fit in with both groups and even having friends.

So, starts the journey of Heiro. Its a journey of growing up, learning about ones abilities, and fighting the system.

This is one of the best books I've read in a very long time. I highly recommend it.
