- Marianne Thorby is the pen name of Marianne Stenberg, née Nyberg (also known as Marianne Skrivit), born in Helsinki. She studied at Töölö's Swedish co-school and graduated from the University of Helsinki with a degree in Swedish literature. She is a scriptwriter in Swedish films and television, and also published several novels.
