I picked this book up to supplement my knowledge of multicultural theories...and while this is a book of those theories, it was not an easy book for me to learn from.

The author tried to create a standard format to discuss each theory, but some had pages upon pages of examples and explanations, other theories had nothing. (So the claim "21 theoretical perspectives" may be a bit of an exaggeration.) The format I also found to be a bit confusing. When presenting a number of thories, it would make sense to be more repetitive with the specific terms/stages of that stage (if you are only devoting 5 pages to theory X, make those 5 pages memorable so that I can remember the key points of that theory.
