I like the bright pop sound of the band. But I don't find myself caring about any of these songs. And they'd be much better without Morrissey.

Asleep / Chelsea Records (CFC003) / various / various / SB+ and AR+ Notes: This CD's tracks are a little mislabelled. The correct listing is shown here. The first 5 tracks are good soundboard recordings. Track 4 is especially nice to have on CD. The last 14 tracks are good audience recordings. The instrumentals are very enjoyable. Meat Is Murder - en españolː La carne es muerte - es el segundo álbum de estudio de The Smiths, puesto a la venta en febrero de 1985. Es el único álbum de la banda en alcanzar el número 1 en el Reino Unido, aunque solo alcanzó el número 40 en Canadá,7 y el número 110 en Estados Unidos.
En el 2003, el álbum alcanzó el puesto 295 de "Los 500 mejores álbumes de todos los tiempos" de la revista Rolling Stone. También ha sido incluido en el libro "Los 1001 discos que hay que oír antes de morir".
The Smiths fue un grupo inglés de rock alternativo formado en Mánchester en 1982. Estaba integrado por Steven Patrick Morrissey (vocalista), Johnny Marr (guitarrista), Andy Rourke (bajista) y Mike Joyce (batería). Ha sido denominada por los críticos como la banda más importante de rock alternativo que surgió en la escena británica de música independiente de la década de 1980.
La banda firmó con el sello discográfico independiente Rough Trade Records. Con él, publicaron cuatro álbumes de estudio, varios recopilatorios y numerosos sencillos.
