3 Stars

I enjoyed the characters & the eroticism of this book, but there where a few problems that interfered with the flow of the story.
I am intrigued enough to go for book 2 in the series.

This is a typical 50 Shades-like book, it wasn't very emotionally engaging though. This is probably because "I love you"s were issued within three fucking days. We're just being introduced to the characters and already they're head over heels talking about forevers. Fucking ridiculous!!!

In addition this book was jam backed with grammatical errors and typos. There were too many "to" instead of "so" to count, misplaced or missing quotation openers, all manor of errors. Are there no more editors worth their pay any longer? Don't any of these authors have readers before publishing?!

The characters were all ok, as was the story, everything (aside from the technical) was just ok. Nothing really wrong, nothing really wonderful. Some of the dialog was good! Some of the scenes were very good, but as a whole, this book was just mediocre with added disappointment of terrible typos.

I'll be reading the next installment as I am still interested, but if it doesn't pick up (and slow down!) by then I'm 'out of here'.

Well, this was again pretty predictable and still I felt no real connection to anyone. In addition there were some of the worst editorial blunders I've yet read... My favorite was at one point in the story Izzy is wearing a cream camisole and denim skirt which she changes out of and leaves the house in "a black clinging dress" but the next morning awakes thinking..."I don’t remember much, besides falling asleep on the train. He must have carried me inside. I’m wearing my camisole top and underwear. But my denim skirt has been removed. So, at some point, I presume, James must have undressed me." Not only did he apparently undressed her, but half redressed her as well! Jesus, do any editors actually read the material before sending off to print?

Also I had issue with the character development of James. He's touted as a control freak and a take charge, competent kind of man. And yet not once did we actually see these personality traits in action. Every circumstance that unfolds he's pretty weak and useless. He's unable to control anyone or anything, he's also really fucking stupid (>>>>>>>>>SPOILER: for example, he decides to use Izzy as bait, but doesn't warn her. He starts making out with Izzy right next door to the very woman who could wreck them ... how is this smart in any way?! END SPOILER
I will say, however, that I did actually enjoy this book, this one more than the other. And I'm already starting the next.

This reminded me of some I Love Lucy Show episode (and I HATE I Love Lucy). All sorts of bad shit happens, one after another, all the characters bumbling about, and at the end is some weak ass tie up. This book was all about...
>>>>>>> spoiler>>>>> End Spoiler
I still felt no emotional connection to a single character and not one character was consistent with the character traits they were supposed to have.

I really do not have much respect for this series, and I don't think I'll be waiting around for the conclusion. I don't really give a rat's ass what happens.

There were so many loose ends as to be ludicrous, and the typos, grammatical errors and general weakness of the scenes have left me feeling like I've wasted days of my life that I'll never get back, with absolutely no payoff or fair trade. I got nothing out of these books, not even a smile.

The only plus I could come up with on this installment is that Izzy is an intelligent main character... too often the female main character is useless and unable to add 2 2. They're so often these hormonal ditzes who think of nothing more than how "hot" a guy is and if they guy's going to spank them. EYE ROLL. Not that this book didn't have IZZY mostly preoccupied with the same banal bullshit, but at least she also had a brain and used it!

Well, I guess I also liked the plot. That was interesting enough too. But the delivery just wasn't strong enough, the writing wasn't stirring, and I just wasn't liking the ineffectuality of James' actoins vs. how he was being touted. He should have been MUCH MUCH MUCH stronger and so much more powerful than he was. He was a huge disappointment.
