"Science Past and Present. (new Edition.)."
I liked the book and I'm sad to see it going to a charity. But I have to downsize my library and this is one of the victims. The reality is that I will never be able to sit down and re-read it ....pity. And I've only referred to it briefly in the 50 or so years since I was given it....I think by my sister. . and these days, Three stars from me.
A readable but down-to-earth introduction to the topic. Sherwood Taylor was a qualified chemist and there is little of the esoteric mumbo-jumbo that appears in too many books on the subject.
