Montgomery, Florence (cousin) - Breve biografia
- Jemima von Tautphoeus, née Montgomery, was born in County Donegal, Ireland, to parents of Scottish origins. Maria Edgeworth and Florence Montgomery were cousins. In 1836, she visited Bavaria, where she met Cajetan Josef Friedrich, Baron von Tautphoeus, a chamberlain and counselor to the king of Bavaria. The couple married in 1838, making her Baroness von Tautphoeus, and had a son. She wrote four novels describing South German life, manners and history described as "combinations of romance and travelogue." Her first book, The Initials (1850) was highly popular; it was followed by Cyrilla (1853), The Quits (1857), and At Odds (1863).
