I received an ARC of this book to read through a review crew. All opinions are my own. Dinner Uncomplicated: Fixing a Delicious Meal Every Night of the Week by Claire Tansey is a book that arrived into my hands exactly when I needed it. Prior to March of 2020 my son and I seldom ate meals at home, I worked a lot of evenings and his busy schedule of school, work, and competitive sports meant we were almost never at home at the same time and when we were it just seemed easier to eat out or order in. Then came the lockdown and we were home for every meal. To make things easier for 3 meals a week we got a delivery service but that still left 4 dinners and 7 lunches for me to create mostly from what we had on hand because running out to pick up ingredients at the last minute simply was not happening and the quality of the meals he was preparing from the food service meant I needed to pick up my dinner game. Luckily I was asked to review this book and it has lots of easy and delicious meals to make from simple ingredients, with clear instructions. There are only two of us but the meals are easy to cut in half or make intentional leftovers for the next day or the freezer.
This book definitely has a place on my keeper shelf and the beautiful photographs and recipes grouped by the time it takes to makes them make it easy to find something to make when planning the week or when you have not planned anything at all but dinner needs to be on the table. Vegetarian options as well.
