Anita and Me di Meera Syal
A beautifully written, warm account of a childhood in the 60s with a fascinating insight into Meena's cross-cultural experiences of being an Indian girl raised in the UK. Filled with sharp and amusing insights into Asian and British culture.
Strong read about a couple in England wishing but unable to conceive, and the varied consequences their choice to pursue surrogacy brings about. Interesting cast of secondary characters and situations in England and India propels the narrative.
I liked this story, but I didn't love it. At one point I was a little lost and had to go back and listen again. I think the story was great, but just way to short for me.
