Ok I liked the series that came before this but I’m totally second guessing myself now. This book is a travesty. Where to start. Brand new FBI agent sent to another territory and immediately starts telling seasoned agents how to do their job, “This isn’t my first rodeo”. Bitch has been with the FBI less than a week. Then let’s talk about a brand new agent allowed out on their own. So, here I am in a strange town, no one knows where I am, cell phone service non existent; I know! I’ll go to the house of the suspected serial killer! Oh good, she’s home! She totally won’t know I’m stealing something from her yard! Ooops. Many bearings and druggings later it takes us just one hour to recuperate! Then we are allowed to lead the home invasion of the killer! Then we screw up and let the last two people be killed! And we are golden. Nope, done with this. Finding a new series… (altro)

Blood in the Bayou. C.M. Sutter.(FBI Agent Jade Monroe Live or Die Series Book 1) 2021. FBI agent Monroe has been promoted to Senior Special Agent in Serial Crimes, and is sent into swamps of Louisiana when some hunters discover some human bones. At the same time, several young women have been missing. The villain, Robert Lee Williams is an off-the-radar loner who ingratiates himself to Jade. They eventually catch him after he has killed a couple of hunters and kidnapped another woman. I wanted to like this book because I do like to read books set in Louisiana, but this book is entirely too gruesome. That is saying something from someone who liked Silence of the Lambs! Not enough plot or character development. I’ll stay with James Lee Burke!… (altro)
