A Deathly Irish Secret has its ups and downs. I like the premise, even though the “heroine inherits property in a faraway place and meets previously unknown family” trope has been done enough. The author has moments of really solid descriptive writing, then others that feel forced and awkward; the narration is generally much better than the dialogue. It does take a while to get to the story’s action. The characters aren’t very memorable or dimensional. All in all, it’s a cute story, and I might try other titles by this author.… (altro)

once the story got started it was enjoyable but there is a lot of backstory that slowed down the first part of the book, I would probably enjoyed it more if I had started the series from book 1 but untill the action took off i was a bit lost

I usually like this type of book. However, I didn't make it past the third chapter. I simply could not connect with the characters or care about what was happening in the book. Others might love it. For some reason I couldn't.

This book was a little difficult for me to get through. While I can see how it may appeal to some, it just wasn't my cup of tea. It was slow and repetitive, with lots of time spent on historical details that were not interesting to me and didn't really add to the story. The end of the book was written at a much more enjoyable pace and was it fun to see everything finally come together. I received an epub file, and the formatting was way off and very distracting (should be an easy fix though).
