Some of the language in the book is a bit irritating, "little buddies" and it is a bit slow to get past the motivational start. But eventually, it gets down to the important concepts and recommendations. Gut health, fiber, pre and probiotics.

Apperance: I liked the cover design and printing but paper has low quality.

Content: The Lose Your Belly Diet is an amazing book that I recommend to read.
Actually it was my first health book that I’ve ordered through Walmart, I’ve learned that we have bad and good bacteria in our body. as it’s clear bad bacteria cause bad feeling, tiredness and fatigue, and we are feeding them with junk and fast foods.
But it also teaches us about Good Bacteria or GUT FLORA, these are the ones that we need to know and feed them, they’ll help us with a better mood, better concentration, and losing belly fat.

This book specificly tells you what to eat and what you need to avoid, it warns about taking anti-biotics and how it kills good and bad bacterias at the same time. I’ve learned to take Probiotics and Prebiotics to stay in shape and make sure that our little friends (Gut Flora) being feed and multiplied. Also Dr.Stork tells us about Fiber and why it’s important to add it in our diet.

If you really would like to get to know your body, and who are living in your digestive system, that’s a must-read. Please don’t forget to share your review down below if you’ve read this book.

This book is NOT just another fad diet book... definitely quite the opposite! Dr. Travis Stork explains how the health and well-being of microbes that live in our gut are connected.

The Lose Your Belly Diet is full of nutritional information and also has a great eating plan that puts its emphasis on eating whole grains, legumes and probiotic foods. You will also find recipes in the back of the book to help you on your healthy journey.

A well-researched book that has a lot of detail and thought behind it! Highly recommended!

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't look up this book because I need to lose weight. I have only a few left to lose to reach the "ideal weight" according to my medical chart and I'm in no hurry. But I am reading on what a healthy diet is--because that's what's important to me, and because soon I have to think about not losing, but maintaining--which as I think everyone knows is the hard part. A 2011 New York Times article stated "more than 90 percent of people who lose a lot of weight gain it back."

The reason this isn't rated five stars is because I didn't take away from it much I didn't know before. This isn't for me a keeper, a must-purchase I'll refer to again and again. But it's eminently sensible--and that's rare enough in diet books--and structured in such a way, with enough choices, a person following the book may actually learn a healthy way to eat--not just simply follow a rigid meal plan. If you want to lose weight in a healthy way--you could do far, far worse than this book.

Having read on diet recently the different takes truly are crazy making. There are the Vegans and their ilk telling you meat and dairy and eggs are poison. Then there are the Paleo people telling you grains and legumes and soy--even fruit--are poison; oh, and the "Nighshade" veggies such as tomatoes and peppers eggplants are bad, and wrong. And both sides argue for their regimens with religious fervor.

What I like about Stork is that he promises to tell you when the science is conflicted or uncertain--such as the changing picture on soy and saturated fat--and I find that beyond refreshing. It makes him as far as I'm concerned far more trustworthy than all those diet gurus insisting you must follow their rules and eliminate a wide swathe of foods humans have eaten for millenia or it's your fault if you get cancer, heart disease or diabetes.
