Wäre Zoe bi, hätte ich 5 Sterne gegeben. Stattdessen sind einfach alle Charaktere straight und ich finde das äußerst lame.

Außerdem noch ein Kritikpunkt, den ich als Kind nicht gesehen habe: Die Beziehung von Zed und Sky ist nur nicht wirklich toxisch, weil die beiden Seelenspiegel sind. Ohne diesen Aspekt, wäre Zed besitzergreifend und würde Skys Gefühle und TRAUMA einfach ignorieren, weil er denkt, sie wären füreinander geschaffen. Find ich bisschen problematisch um ehrlich zu sein. Und er hat offensichtlich anger issues, die angeblich nur weggehen, weil er seinen Seelenspiegel gefunden hat, aber es gibt eine Szene, in der er ganz klar einen Ausbruch hat, während sie zusammen sind.

Aber ansonsten ein süßes Buch.… (altro)

This one was okay but there were so many fractured subplots going on that I found it difficult to get interested in the actual mystery. Or maybe I should say, in any of the three or four mysteries. Though this may actually be a narrative device reflecting the main character's ADHD.

Also, and maybe most important, the point of view is a mixed one with a first person POV from the main character Jess and focus on other characters from an omniscient POV. I found this very confusing, like "who's telling this story anyhow?

Still, the people are likable and (mostly, this is a murder mystery after all) kind to each other. I especially liked the police detective, Leo George, and am interested in following this series just to see him develop.… (altro)
