A study of the planning and problems faced by the Air Force Academy after Congress forced the military academies to open their doors to women in 1976. Did the academy deal effectively with the transition? The author notes that the drop out rate for women during those first years was significantly lower at the Air Force academy than at the Navy and Army schools and tries to answer Why?
