This is a novel from White Wolf's World of Darkness, Mage the Ascension Roleplaying game.
We meet an author writing a sequel to his best selling novel. Weird things start happening, like not remembering writing the latest passages. His story seems to be taking on a life of its own. His own life starts to spiral out of control as his life collapses around him. He eventually learns he is a Mage and the world and main character in his novel HAVE taken on a life of their own.
