Reese Murdock is wealthy, intelligent, suspicious of everyone, and can be a certified jerk with a heart of gold buried deep deep deeply hidden. Emily Quinn is quirky, sweetheart, wants the best for her family, and works hard but she finds herself in a predicament when it comes to Reese and him staying at their rundown motel. Reese’s past plays a big part in what shaped him into being this cold-hearted man, but he has also been burned by others trying to tie themselves to his name to know he can’t trust anyone and the girl who was hiding under his bed is someone he thinks can never be trusted. Emily tries hard to get through the exterior of this cold calculated man, but it seems impossible until the more time they spend together, and we see Reese’s heart slowly melt, just not all the way. Revenge is the plan that Reese has in mind and not just for Emily but other reasons as well, but things seem to change at some point until Reese finally pushes Emily to her limit and ultimately away. The feelings, the heat, and chemistry are intense but is it just a ploy that Reese is using or is there something more going on? I really enjoyed this read because the banter between them is spot on and Emily holds her own while holding on to her own morals and dignity yet can give it back just as good.… (altro)

Team Flanna

The relationship between Flynn and Anna is not one that is kind of filled with loved because in high school Anna does something that gets Flynn locked up but she does it to protect him from a far worse sentence, he just doesn’t know that so he spends years hating her. Flynn asks Anna to be his fake girlfriend because of the hate he has for her there won’t be a chance for them to fall in love, yet that’s exactly what happens. I loved their push and pull, I felt bad for Anna, and wanted to smack Felicity a few times, also smack Flynn occasionally until he comes around. Great angsts read… (altro)

I loved this story because Jack is this billionaire author who is shrouded in secrets and mystery. Jack is protective and loyal to his friend Flynn, so when Flynn’s fiancé sister needs some help he steps in and takes matter into his own hands. Jack seems to think he is helping Becka out of the goodness of his heart but subconsciously he is doing this because he is highly attracted to her. Becka is a college student who seems to stumble onto trouble everywhere she goes so when Jack starts to help her out she doesn’t want to take any handouts but he is insistent that she do as he says. Becka loves his books and thinks he is attractive but now that he is her boss there will be no crossing the lines, or so she thinks. This was a slow burn romance that draws you in and you are dying to know all of Jack’s secrets. I loved this story and loved that no matter what Becka was always herself and unapologetically never held back from wanting to know more.… (altro)
