A cute story of a young girl and her push-pedal low-rider car. Also her grandfather makes an appearance showing the value of the older generation to the younger. Teresa loves her car, but neglects to care for it properly and it becomes run down. Her grandfather helps her to fix it up. Spanish words are sprinkled through this version. The illustrations by Pam Paparone are very sweet.

This book is great for students at a beginner or intermediate reading level. It is about a cat named Chato and his friend Navio Boy, who live together. A family of mice moves in next door, and the cats invite them over for dinner, where they plan traditional Mexican foods such as rice, beans, enchiladas, frijoles, fajitas, and salsa. I would introduce this book to my classroom as a fun read-aloud for my students to learn about Mexican food culture.

A good short story about friendship and sports - basketball. Who shall lose, and who shall win? Sometimes losing is your option, and winning isn't. But how do you win? When you defeat your foes. How do you lose? When your friends lose. But what if, your friends are your foes? Well, that's what you call 'bullshit'.
