The Technology of Ancient Egypt is a great resource for children who are doing a research project. This book talks about a variety of factors that contributed to the ancient culture of Egypt. The text focus on the main concepts of fertility and food, the written word, means of measurement, great constructions, mummies and medicine, and chemists and craftsmen. This book does a nice job of describing and showing what the ancient culture is like.
I think this would be an appropriate book when covering a section in social studies on Egypt. I would recommend this book for a fifth or sixth grade classroom. This book is a good resource for children who are conducting research on Egypt or who are just curious about other cultures. I would like to have this book in my classroom because I feel it is very beneficial to see how other cultures do things and to help the youth of the classroom see that there is never one way to do something. This book displays experiments in showing that the pyramids were a trial and error process and that they tried many different ways to build things. Overall, I think this is a fun educational book for my classroom.… (altro)
