Around 1970 I purchased, second hand, a copy of Gray's anatomy. Full of black and white drawings. I think it was pretty old even then but it seemed to be the classic anatomy text book used by medical students. And much later.....I guess around 1983 I was given a later edition by a friend of mine in Spain who was moving back to the USA and trying to reduce their possessions. But then I encountered this wonderful Atlas of Anatomy....in gorgeous full colour which makes such a difference. To my recollection, the text is not as detailed as in Gray's Anatomy...but then, it is probably not needed as much. This is not a book that I'm going to read cover to cover, but it was great when I damaged my iliacus tibial tendon...and I wanted to see just where it was located and how it connected with the rest of the body.
I really like the pictures and it's not just an atlas. There is other information such as a good diet for osteoarthritis, some explanations about the symptoms for various problems and so on. Happy to give it five stars.… (altro)
