Nicole Snow

Grant, the grumpy police captain from the first book, is the hero of this follow-up. He'd always loved his best friend's little sister, Ophelia, but the two didn't communicate well, and she'd left town for ten years. She's back because her mother is ill, and her sister has taken up with another scion of the villainous Arendell family.
Like the first book, this starts off well, but the ending is just a mess. There are some plot holes - how did Nell, Grant's niece, end up in the trunk of a car and then on the yacht? And the Bourne/Lara Croft ending was too much. There are still Arendells left, so I expect there will be another book in the series, but I think I've had enough.… (altro)
